Fantasyland is about to glow a little brighter. A brand-new miniature of Rapunzel’s Tower from Disney Animation’s Tangled is sailing into Storybook Land Canal Boats at Disneyland. Debuting as part of the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration, this charming addition will be tucked between the Patchwork Quilt and Toad Hall when the attraction returns this winter.

Think a shingled turret, high windows, and a pocket of lush greenery carved into the rocks. It feels like it leapt right out of the film. Keep your eyes on the stone wall: a series of wanted posters for Flynn Rider are scattered about, and in true running gag fashion, the nose is different on each one.

Down by the waterline, look for a secluded dock with a small boat inspired by the movie. As dusk falls, twinkling lights wind up a trellis near the bridge while the Casey Jr. Circus Train chugs by overhead. It’s a postcard-perfect Fantasyland moment.

Why We’re Excited

This is the kind of tiny scene that makes Storybook Land shine. It layers texture and humor: the tower shingles, the ivy, and those forever-wrong Flynn posters you’ll want to point out to your boat. With the day-to-night music change and the soft lantern glow, it becomes a quiet little moment that feels pulled right out of Tangled. Simple, sweet, and very Fantasyland.

Listen For These Musical Touches

Daytime rides will feature a sweet instrumental of “When Will My Life Begin?”, a nod to Rapunzel’s cozy tower routines. After sunset, the ambiance shifts to “I See the Light” as the canal sparkles. It’s a quiet nod to the lantern scene.

What to Watch For as You Float By

  • Placement: Located between the Patchwork Quilt hillside and Toad Hall.
  • Flynn’s nose: The wanted posters are intentionally inconsistent — that’s the joke!
  • Lantern vibes: A ribbon of warm lights climbs a trellis near the bridge.
  • Tower details: Wood shingles, stone textures, and careful planting sell the scale.
  • Mini marina: Don’t miss the little rowboat tucked along the canal.
  • Audio swap: Day vs. night music cues change the scene’s personality.

Note: Details and timing are subject to change. Check the Disneyland app for the latest refurbishment and operating updates.

Waltz on Main Planning Tips

  • Ride at golden hour: Catch the daylight-to-twilight music transition for maximum “lantern” magic.
  • Boat seating: Ask politely for the left-hand side for a great angle on the tower.
  • Watch the app: The attraction is slated to reopen this winter; check the official app for the latest.
