Disney's New Ship, the Disney Believe, Sets Sail in 2027 with Themed Venues Inspired by Classic Films

Disney's newest cruise ship, the Disney Believe, sets sail December 18, 2027, from Fort Lauderdale with themed venues inspired by Disney films like Moana, Frozen, and Encanto. The ship features new dining experiences, adult lounges, entertainment shows, and staterooms with Disney theming throughout, with general bookings opening October 19, 2026.

What's Coming to the Disney Believe

Disney Cruise Line is adding a new ship to its fleet: the Disney Believe, which'll set sail on its first voyage on December 18, 2027 from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The ship will offer four- and five-night sailings to The Bahamas and Caribbean, with general bookings opening October 19, 2026.

The new ship is designed around Walt Disney's legacy of curiosity and discovery, with each venue pulling inspiration from classic Disney films and characters. There's a strong emphasis on themed spaces, each celebrating a different story or concept.

The Major Gathering Spaces

The heart of the ship is the Grand Hall, inspired by Moana. It's designed as an architectural blend of sky and sea, with ocean-hued carpeting, constellation-dotted ceilings, and railings that echo patterns from the film. The centerpiece is a chandelier modeled after ocean movement with Te Fiti's heart at its core.

For adult entertainment, there's Gazelle, a venue inspired by Zootopia that'll host family activities during the day and adult-exclusive shows at night. It'll feature a brand-new show where guests help Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde solve a case, a first for Disney Cruise Line.

There's also Skygazers, an observatory-themed pub with bookshelves full of astronomical instruments and nods to classic Disney stories. It'll serve craft beers, specialty cocktails, and light bites while guests watch live sports or enjoy the evening sky.

Coffee lovers get two new spots: Big Hero Sips, inspired by San Fransokyo from Big Hero 6, and Café Kakamora, featuring the coconut creatures from Moana. Both serve coffee, tea, and specialty beverages.

Lounges and Bars

Wishing Well is a lounge inspired by Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It's divided into three sections: a gothic castle bar with stained glass, an enchanted courtyard seating area under white blossoms and red apples, and a performance space with hand-carved wood framing honoring the dwarfs' cottage.

Staterooms and Suites

Staterooms are available in various themed options, with new papercut-style artwork inspired by Moana, Coco, and Inside Out. Most rooms include the split-bath concept, ample storage, roomy closets, and elevated beds with under-bed space. About 70 percent have verandahs, and there are over 450 connecting doors for larger families.

Concierge guests can choose Neverland theming from Peter Pan or special oceanview rooms with Toy Story theming above the bridge.

Two new royal suites debut: the Royal Reef Suite inspired by The Little Mermaid and the Royal Rose Suite inspired by Beauty and the Beast.

The ship's crown jewel is the Believe Tower Suite, exclusive to this ship and sleeping eight people. It's a two-story suite inspired by Magic Kingdom Park, with each room designed after different themed lands. It'll feature fireworks and balloon-inspired light fixtures and an art piece of Cinderella Castle.

Entertainment

Tangled: The Musical comes to the Walt Disney Theatre with a reimagined set design and special effects.

Encanto gets its first stage adaptation, exclusive to the Disney Believe. Called Disney Encanto, it'll follow Mirabel's quest with vibrant Colombian-inspired costuming, scenic design, and traditional dance styles. Lin-Manuel Miranda's songs from the film are part of the soundtrack.

What You Should Know

The Disney Believe is the newest ship in Disney's Wish class. It's designed to feel immersive and themed throughout, with fewer generic spaces than you might find on other cruise lines. If you're a Disney fan who loves the parks' attention to detail, this ship leans into that same philosophy across its dining, entertainment, and accommodations.

Bookings open in October 2026, so if you're interested in sailing on the maiden voyage or early sailings, you'll want to keep that date in mind.
