Why We're Setting Alarms for Disney Springs Mornings (And You Should Too)

Disney Springs is completely different before noon, with cooler weather, shorter lines, and a special opening ceremony at World of Disney every day at 10:00 a.m. You can grab coffee with Mickey latte art at Joffrey's, hit up weekend brunch spots like Chef Art Smith's Homecomin', and even ride the Aerophile balloon before the crowds show up.

Okay, we know you're on vacation and the last thing you want is an alarm clock blaring at you. But hear us out: Disney Springs before noon? It's actually magical. We're talking cool Florida mornings, no elbow-to-elbow crowds, and being able to walk into World of Disney without navigating a stroller maze. If you've been sleeping in and skipping Disney Springs till dinner, you've been doing it wrong.

Coffee, Art, and Fueling Up

First things first: caffeine. Joffrey's Coffee & Tea Company needs to be your first stop. Their baristas can draw Mickey right into your latte foam, which is completely unnecessary and totally adorable. Grab a cold brew or one of their fancy loose-leaf teas, then wander over to the Disney Springs Art Walk in Town Center. It's an outdoor gallery with pieces from local and global artists, and at this hour, you've got the space to yourself for photos without some random person wandering into your shot.

Now for the important part: breakfast. You've got options, and we mean good ones.

If it's the weekend, Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' serves up Southern-style brunch from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Think fried chicken on fluffy biscuits and French toast that'll ruin you for all other French toast. Their full menu starts at 11:00 a.m. daily if you sleep in a little.

Summer House on the Lake brings those California vibes with weekend brunch starting at 9:00 a.m. You absolutely need to try their giant cinnamon roll. Like, it's the size of your face. They also have grab-and-go options at the Cookie Bar if you can't sit still.

For something quick but ridiculous, Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew opens at 9:00 a.m. with donuts topped with cereal and candy because vacation calories don't count. Earl of Sandwich is also there at 9:00 a.m. with hot breakfast sandwiches if you want something savory fast.

Feeling fancy? Wine Bar George does a Wine Country Brunch on weekends starting at 10:30 a.m. with small plates and actual good wine because it's noon somewhere, right? And House of Blues goes hard with Southern comfort food from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on weekends. Chicken and donuts, people. It's a thing.

Quick bites: Marketplace Snacks has a hot honey chicken waffle when they open at 11:00 a.m., and the Go Juice food truck opens then too for smoothies and acai bowls if you're pretending to be healthy.

Heads up: while Disney Springs technically opens at 9:00 a.m., a lot of restaurants don't fire up the griddles until 10:00 or 11:00 a.m. Earl of Sandwich is your best bet for immediate hot food, and definitely book reservations for those weekend brunch spots or you'll be stuck watching other people eat biscuits.

Shopping Without the Shoulder Checks

Here's the thing about World of Disney in the morning. It's not just shopping, it's an experience. Every day at 10:00 a.m., they do the opening ceremony with a giant key, red carpet, and legit applause as the doors swing open. It's cheesy and we unapologetically love it. Plus, the store is actually browseable before it turns into a sardine can. You can inspect every Mickey Mouse plush and pin without getting body checked by someone's backpack.

Morning Entertainment That Doesn't Involve Lines

So you've eaten and shopped. Now what?

If the weather cooperates (big if in Florida), the Aerophile balloon is incredible in the morning. It goes up 400 feet and you can see EPCOT, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Magic Kingdom from up there. Morning flights mean cooler temps and way fewer people, plus the lighting is perfect for photos. Just know they won't fly if it's stormy.

Want to kill time? Splitsville Luxury Lanes opens at 11:00 a.m. and morning bowling hits different when you don't have to wait an hour for a lane. Grab some sushi or pizza there and just chill.

Or catch a movie at AMC DINE-IN Disney Springs 24. They start screenings as early as 9:30 a.m. and you get matinee pricing before 4:00 p.m. Empty theater, cheap tickets, and you can eat chicken tenders while watching the movie. Yes please.

For photos without the stress, the Disney PhotoPass Studio opens at 11:00 a.m. with seasonal backdrops. No reservations needed, and no rushing the kids. Perfect for holiday cards or just capturing the moment when everyone's still in a good mood and nobody's melted down yet.

Kid Stuff (That Adults Won't Hate)

If you've got littles with energy to burn, mornings are prime time. The LEGO Store has the Minifigure Factory where kids can build their own custom figs. Little Words Project lets them design bracelets at the Bead Bar, and there's a discount for the kiddos.

Adults can get in on the hands-on fun too. Amorette's Patisserie has cake decorating experiences that are surprisingly therapeutic, and Disney's Days of Christmas lets you personalize ornaments. During Cool KIDS' SUMMER (starting May 26), there are dance parties and extra activities popping up.

So yeah, sleeping in is great and all. But Disney Springs mornings? That's where the magic actually feels manageable. You get your coffee, your photos, your shopping, and you're back at the resort for pool time before the afternoon thunderstorms roll in. That's what we call winning.
