Disney shared some substantial updates on its Marvel expansion plans at D23, with news about new attractions, opening dates, and projects taking shape across multiple parks.
Two New Attractions Coming to California Adventure in 2028
Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure is getting bigger. The land will roughly double in size, and two new attractions are on the way: Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab. Both are scheduled to open in 2028. The expansion will also create a new connection between Avengers Campus and Cars Land.
Avengers Infinity Defense Details
Avengers Infinity Defense will put you in the role of a new recruit on a mission. Iman Vellani reprises her role as Ms. Marvel to brief you on the mission: reassemble the Avengers and stop King Thanos.

You'll travel through iconic locations like Asgard, Wakanda, and New York City aboard the attraction. Several original cast members are returning to voice their characters:
- Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye
- Anthony Mackie as Captain America
- Chris Hemsworth as Thor
- Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man

The attraction combines physical sets with large-scale media screens to put you in the thick of the action, including a face-to-face encounter with King Thanos.

Stark Flight Lab Experience
Stark Flight Lab takes a different approach. You'll sit in two-person "gyro-kinetic pods" that roll along a track and stop in front of a giant robot arm. The experience simulates Avenger flight training with high-speed maneuvers inspired by Iron Man, making it the kind of ride you'll want to experience multiple times.
Robert Downey Jr. returns as Iron Man, along with Anthony Mackie as Captain America and Brie Larson as Captain Marvel.

Hong Kong Disneyland Gets Avengers Tower
A new Avengers pavilion is under construction at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. This will be home to Avengers Research Testing Labs, a tower experience featuring Spider-Man, Stark Industries, and other Avengers. The attraction uses over 120 feet of storytelling technology and will take you across realms like Wakanda and Asgard.

Nearby, a new Quinjet landing platform will serve as another spot to encounter heroes throughout the park.

Shanghai Gets a Spider-Man Land
Shanghai Disney Resort is getting the world's first land dedicated exclusively to Spider-Man. It'll be home to the Shanghai division of the Worldwide Engineering Brigade (W.E.B.), the organization created by Tony Stark to get young people experimenting with technology.
The centerpiece is a new Spider-Man coaster built by Spider-Bots created by Peter Parker and his friends. The land will feature over 20 murals created by Disney Imagineers collaborating with local artists, celebrating science, Spider-Man, and the Avengers. The final section of the coaster's track has already been installed.
